Chanting ‘Jai Mahakal’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’, thousands of devotees from across the globe gathered at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj to take the final ‘Amrit Snan’ on Mahashivratri, the concluding day of the grand festival.

According to government data, by 2 am, over 11.66 lakh devotees immersed themselves in the Sangam.

This number surged to 25.64 lakh within the next two hours and nearly doubled by 6 am, with 41.11 lakh devotees taking a dip.

With this being the last holy ‘snan’ of the Maha Kumbh, devotees started gathering at the Sangam shores from midnight.

Scores of devotees took the dip during ‘Brahma Muhurt' and performed their sacred bath much earlier.
